Wendy & Maddy

Having the ability to express yourself and be understood is one of the most fundamental human skills. When a person cannot develop this skill or is unable to use it effectively, it can have severe social and emotional consequences.

Speech therapy can help with a variety of communication and swallowing issues, including articulation, stuttering, phonological disorders, voice disorders, or phonological impairment. It also helps with the development of functional communication skills in different environments such as home, child care, kindergarten and school. Her clinical experience has included acute hospital care (including critical care), community NDIS, and residential aged & disability services. She is skilled in developing person-centred dysphagia management plans incorporating texture-modified foods and fluids to meet individual needs. She enjoys working closely with clients and their families/care providers.

Alisa & Aaron

With advances in technology, many speech therapists now offer services online via telecommunication. These telepractice options are often cheaper than in-person therapy, but they must still meet ASHA’s standards for ethical practices. They must be HIPAA compliant, offer a wide range of services, have therapists with specialised training, and accept most insurance.

Alisa works with young children and their families in Early Childhood Intervention. She has extensive knowledge of language development and is passionate about providing family-centered care. She uses both play-based and structured therapy activities in her treatment sessions.

Aaron has eight years of experience working in acute, critical care, aged care, and rehabilitation. She is skilled in developing person-centred swallowing management plans and has experience working with clients who have complex recurrent aphasia, cognitive impairments (including dementia), and stuttering.

She has also worked with people who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, as well as feeding disorders. She is also trained in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, Lee Silverman Voice Therapy and VitalStim.
